About me

Hi there! I’m Erica—also known as Naj—and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a mom, wife, aspiring physician, and someone deeply passionate about helping others thrive in every area of life. My journey has been anything but straightforward, but through every challenge, I’ve learned the power of faith, resilience, and intentional growth.

For years, I’ve worked as a Senior Research Coordinator in clinical research, where I’ve had the privilege of contributing to groundbreaking studies and publishing my work in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. I’m also a certified EMT, which has given me hands-on insight into the incredible complexities of medicine. Yet, even with these accomplishments, I know what it feels like to face setbacks and uncertainty. I’ve applied to medical school multiple times and am actively pursuing my dream of becoming a physician—while balancing the chaos and beauty of family life.

This space is a reflection of my journey—a place where I can share my lessons, successes, and even failures to inspire and encourage others. Whether you’re a premed or medical student navigating the demanding path of healthcare, a busy mom trying to juggle life’s responsibilities, or someone simply seeking spiritual growth and inspiration, you’ll find something here for you.

I created Rooted & Radiant as a space to connect, empower, and uplift. My blog dives into topics like thriving academically, balancing faith with the demands of life, and finding joy even in the hard seasons. You’ll also find products designed to support you—whether it’s a planner to keep you organized, a devotional to fuel your faith, or resources to help you succeed in your academic or professional pursuits.

At the heart of it all, I believe in meeting people where they are. Life is hard, but it’s also filled with opportunities to grow, learn, and walk boldly in our purpose. I hope this space reminds you that you’re not alone, and that no matter where you’re starting, you can build a life rooted in faith and radiant in purpose.

Thank you for being here—it means the world to me. Together, let’s navigate life’s challenges, celebrate its joys, and grow into the people we’re called to be.
