The Devil Doesn’t Need You to Quit — Just to Forget Why You Started

There was never a day I didn’t think I was called into medicine. But my first semester in medical school was especially trying. The thoughts of competition — like I was the only one on survival mode while everyone else breezed through — crept into my mind… constantly… much longer than I would have liked. And over time, it started to affect how I showed up to class. How I engaged with my work. How I believed in myself.

But thank God for the Holy Spirit, who gently reminded me: this voice, this feeling, is not from God.


When the Fight Isn’t to Quit — It’s to Forget

One thing I’ve learned is the enemy doesn’t always push you to quit outright. Sometimes, he simply wants to distract you until you forget the very reason you began.

It’s subtle.
You stop waking up with expectation.
You show up to class, but your heart isn’t in it.
You start measuring your worth by the curve on an exam instead of the calling God placed in your life.

That’s what the enemy is after — not just your energy, but your why. Because once your why is blurry, your fight feels meaningless.
